Thousands of Clothing Fabrics, Let Me Introduce Some Common Fabric Characteristics to You!
In the world of clothing, the fabrics used in clothing are diverse and constantly changing. Below, we will provide a brief introduction to the characteristics of common Clothing Fabrics.
Leatherwear
Leather is an animal fur fabric obtained through tanning treatment, commonly used for making fashion and winter clothing. Leather is divided into leather and fur. Leather is processed by removing hair, while fur is processed leather with attached belt hair. The advantages of leather are lightness, warmth, and a luxurious appearance, but the disadvantages are that it is expensive and requires special storage and care.
Chemical fiber
Chemical fiber is the abbreviation for chemical fiber, which is made of high molecular weight compounds. Chemical fibers are divided into artificial fibers and synthetic fibers. Their advantages are bright colors, soft texture, firm hanging, smooth and comfortable. But the disadvantages are poor wear resistance, heat resistance, moisture absorption, and breathability, which can easily deform and generate static electricity.
Blending
Blended fabric is a textile made by blending natural fibers and chemical fibers in a certain proportion, suitable for various types of clothing. Blended fabrics combine the advantages of various fibers, avoid their respective disadvantages, and have a relatively low price.
Pure cotton
Pure Cotton Fabric is made from cotton as raw material and interwoven with warp and weft yarns through a weaving machine. Pure cotton fabrics have advantages such as moisture absorption, moisture retention, heat resistance, alkali resistance, and hygiene. But it is prone to wrinkling, difficult to smooth out after wrinkling, and prone to shrinkage (with a shrinkage rate of 2-5%). After special processing or washing treatment, pure cotton clothing will deform, especially when the summer fabric is thin.
Lycra fabric
Lycra is a new type of fiber launched by DuPont in the United States. Unlike traditional elastic fibers, it can stretch up to 500% and return to its original state. Lycra is known as a "friendly" fiber because it can blend with natural and synthetic fibers, increasing the comfort, fit, freedom of movement, and lifespan of fabrics or clothing.
Oxford
Oxford cloth, also known as Oxford spinning, is made by interweaving polyester polyester cotton blended yarn with cotton yarn, using a weft weight flat or square flat weave. Oxford spinning has the characteristics of easy washing and quick drying, soft hand feel, good moisture absorption, and comfortable wearing, with an appearance similar to colored woven fabric. Oxford spinning belongs to the middle and lower grades of shirt fabrics.
Knitted fabric
Knitted fabric, also known as sweatshirt, is a flat knit fabric used to make underwear. Knitted fabric has good moisture absorption and breathability, but it also has detachment and curling properties, and sometimes there may be coil distortion.
Polyester fiber
Polyester is the trade name for polyester fibers in China. It is a high polymer called polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which is made from purified terephthalic acid (PTA), dimethyl terephthalate (DMT), and ethylene glycol (EG) through esterification, ester exchange, and condensation reactions. The fibers are then spun and processed.
